Street cameras showed a shocking video of the heavy earthquake in Italy! Cameras mounted on highways recorded the moment of the powerful earthquake that took more than 240 victims in Italy. The earthquake of 6.2 on the Richter scale has awoken the country on Wednesday morning at 3:36 am. For the destructive power of the earthquake also speaks the fact that the small town of Amatrice was almost completely destroyed and there is major damage in several other places as well. In the rescue efforts, in addition to the police and citizen volunteers, the Italian Army has also joined, which sent specialized units in the hardest hit areas – Accumoli, Amatrice, and the village Pescara del Tronto, which is also very damaged.
Rescue workers continue digging out people under the destroyed buildings. After 25 hours, still the chances for more survivors to be found are slim. In many places the roads are ruined, while bridges have also been destroyed, which complicates the work of rescue.
As you can see on the video footage below taken in Teramo, Celano, Roma GRA highway, Colle Tasso and Gran Sasso, this bridge was swaying as if it were made of paper. This can be seen in part of many shots taken from security cameras on routes in Italy, during the earthquake early yesterday morning in the central Apennine peninsula. The devastating earthquake killed 241 persons, whereas the most damage was in the small towns Amatrice and Accumoli.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter scale and struck central Italy early morning, while people were still in their beds. There wasn’t even enough time to response, after which many residents of small Italian towns remained trapped in their houses and apartments.
The dead included many foreign nationals because the affected towns are with historical significance, so they are often the destination of tourists in Italy.
