Seeing that nasty and fast Vulcan XH558 is sight of a lifetime. It will always remind you that there is something more than the ground, above it in the sky. Only the pilots of the plane know what we are talking about and they wouldn’t change a thing about that, or about the Vulcan per say. That’s why we are so grateful for the pilot that did this amazing stunt and showed us that they are not always following the books that they are given, they think with their own head and they know stuff.
What a smooth landing the pilot did with the Vulcan XH558 it is unbelievable. He managed to do the head on wheelie with the aircraft like no pilot has ever done it before. But this is all skill that is involved here nothing else. He has total control of the aircraft and he never thought of anything else, he wanted to place that plane on the runway at Farnborough Airshow like it is a piece of meat on the barbecue. So smooth and so satisfying to watch that every other pilot is going to envy this move. Placing the plane on the rear landing wheels is easy, but aligning them to hit the ground at the same time is the hard thing to do and this is exactly what happened here. After he got both of the rear wheels on the landing strip he didn’t rush the front wheels down. He kept the Vulcan XH558 going still on the rear wheels and the front ones up in the air. This is called the airplane wheelie and it has been done in perfect order. Driving it like that for ten seconds he showed extraordinary skills of orientation and patience that no other pilot could manage to copy the same move.
