For those of you who are familiar, ever since the inception of the Mustang, thesolid rear axle (SRA) has been a mainstay, but now, the time has come for it to go down in history. It will be officially replaced with the Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) and it won’t even be an option any more except in the Cobra Jet model. As we said, ever since the inception of the first Mustang in the early 60’s, a solid rear axle was an initial part of every produced Mustang. That is why from no on, when we talk about SRA, the history of the Mustang will be divided on the era before and after 2015 Mustang. There is o looking back and the IRA will come at the place of what once use to be SRA. There should be no worries about the abilities of the new models. According to Dave Pericak, the 2015 Mustang’s IRS has already been tested on the “battleground” and it has shown results that it can endure with all of the demands of the drag strip.
