Rolls Royce Phantom
It is known that the car was invented by the Germans, but we need to recognize the fact that a considerable contribution to the development of the automotive business was made by two Britons -- Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, setting new standards for quality and reliability.
The Silver Ghost was the only model in the production program of the company Rolls-Royce for more than 15 years and, in spite of the frequent changes of models from other automakers, it remained quite competitive.
By 1925, the main contenders Hispano Suiza and Isotta Fraschini began to get the outdated Silver Ghost and Rolls-Royce started working on a more powerful version of the engine. The new long-stroke six-cylinder engine had significantly more power (108 hp) and a huge torque. The well-proven chassis did not change, and the car was named 40/50 New Phantom, which after the release of the following new Ghost was changed to Phantom I.
