The Russian armored vehicle-launched bridge MTU-90 is designed for deploying single-span metal bridge carrying capacity of 50 tons over obstacles up to a width of 24 meters. Its place is in the combat formations of the second echelon or in a tank regiment in the first echelon tank division. The deployment of the bridge is carried out by the crew of the machine without engaging the personnel of the car.

Designed for the use in combat situation the bridge can be deployed across ditches, canals, and water obstacles. It provides a high rate of crossing guidance at any time in any weather conditions in the chemical and radioactive contamination as well as the assembly of multi-span bridge with bridge from the heavy mechanized bridge TMM-6.

The prototype was established in 2009. The upgraded armored vehicle-launched bridge universal MTU-90M was introduced in 2011 at the “Russian Expo Arms. Nizhny Tagil-2011”.

The bridge structure has an original system – triple scissors. To drive a vehicle the bridge extends to the barrier, hydraulically relying on the outrigger on the ground, lays out the construction of the bridge and puts it into an obstacle.
