The XB-1 is 3: 1 times reduced version in terms of a passenger aircraft the producing of which will start in 2020. The revealed prototype has space only for the pilot, while the commercial version could ship up to 44 passengers.

The company Boom Technology claims that their planes will be able to travel from New York to London in just three to three and a half hours, while the average “standard” flight takes about 7 hours. The company said that a flight from Los Angeles to Sydney which lasts about 15 hours, will be shortened to 6 hours and 45 minutes. According to the initial estimates, a ticket from London to New York with new “Concord” is supposed to cost about 5 thousand dollars.

The people at Boom Technology claim that their minimized concorde airplane travels at a speed of 2.2 Mach (2,700 km/h) or 10% faster than the “Concord” and nearly three times faster than the speed of an average passenger airliner. This startup already has great support from the billionaire Richard Branson, head of the Virgin Group.
