Three originals from the 70s and three modern versions on the LA River!
It’s no secret that the American version of Top Gear is not exactly on the level of teasing which Jeremy Clarkson and the original team nurture. But from time to time they do something really interesting. Let’s say, like when you wer driving on the LA River in the two versions of the three classic muscle cars.
Thus, the LA River is the same concrete channel from Grease, Terminator 2, Chinatown, Drive and more or less all the films in which it is necessary an emergency landing of any aircraft, and the story takes place in California. Including the Space Shuttle, which should be flying into Florida.
There they found two yellow Mustang Boss 302 from the 70s and the new Mustang GT, two blue Dodge came also: the original Challenger and the new SRT8 and two Camaro SS: blue from 1969 and the new white self-titled.
The challenge for the American host trio was a drag race, half of the tracks with the old and half with the new model. Who won? Watch the video. It’s not what you think …
OK you had a 1970 Boss 302 so why not a 1970 T/A Challanger and a 1969 302 Zapper Chevy. To really make it fair all of them with 4 speeds. Trans Am cars. I would like to see that.

First off that is clearly a 1969 Camaro not one from the 70’s as described. And to make the drag race between the classics fair they should have used the 69 z/28 and hemi challenger. Second. they should have done a 6 way drag race from dead stop not that convoluted Chinese fire drill drag race. Just my 2 cents
Thanks for the notice Michael, there was a typo in the text and now it’s fixed. As for you suggestion, I would like to see the 1969 Camaro Z/28 too. It’s one of my favorite muscle cars ever 🙂 What’s yours?
