Have you ever asked yourself the following question: what would happen if America makes its own Ariel Atom? We’re here to give you the proper answer to that question. The answer comes from the guys at the company Exomotive who, in few words said, have offered us a LS3 Corvette-powered Mazda Miata with an exoskeleton called the Exocet kit. Thus came into existence the one of a kind Exocet Miata.
It features the new design body for the Exocet kit. It looks pretty cool to us, and we are pretty much convinced it provides a lot of fun if the handling is as sorted as the company says it is. The unusual go-kart featured in the video below is the Exocet Miata powered by an Chevrolet LS3 V8 engine usually found under the hood of a C6 Corvette, which delivers 525 hp, paired to a T56 manual transmission while also using a Cadillac CTS-V differential with 3.23 gearing at the back to put all that power to the ground. This outrageous beast produces a whopping amount of horsepower, especially when you consider the fact it weighs little less than 1700lbs.
Now as for the makers, Exomotive is a kit car building company based in Roswell, Georgia which builds kit cars. At the moment they offer you five models of kit cars, with the Exocet is just one of them.
We would love to see this thing in action as that power to weight ratio is pure INSANITY! Even though it’s already going BIG, we think a turbo or nitrous would make this machine shoot off of the charts!
The following video was filmed during the 2014 North America Fabrication Technology Expo (FABTech) event in Atlanta, Georgia. Check it out to get a quick tour of this extraordinary beast put together by Tie Down Engineering.
