Riding a bike and rolling through a stop sign is just stupid and pointless. Especially when the vehicle you’re trying to use as a shield blocks your line of sight.

However, in this case the cyclist was wrong in that he did not stop but he decided to continue riding thinking that because he was beside the SUV he won’t get hit because people will notice first the SUV. The driver of the SUV and the cyclist are equally wrong, however the one who has the most responsibility is the driver in the Volkswagen if he had stopped or at least slowed down no one would have got hurt.

In any case, instead of blaming people, terrible accidents like this should teach us to be more considerate when driving a car or riding a bicycle on the street. We all have a huge responsibility for our own lives and the lives of other people as well. Cautious driving and behavior on the streets is just another sign of our empathy and respect for other people around us.
