This is something that you don’t see every day. I know that Plymouth Barracuda is not a car that should be underestimated but this ‘Cuda that we see today is something different, beyond your imagination.

After 6,000 hours later the Super ‘Cuda is finally ready to be tested on the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea, Michigan. To make things more interesting, joining the ‘Cuda is a Ferrari Enzo  that will help us see just how much power this Super ‘Cuda holds under the hood. Just to remind you, the Enzo has a 6.0 L Tipo F140 B V12 that produces 651 horsepower and on the other had we have the ‘Cuda that has be tuned and set up with a 1000+ horsepower twin-turbo Viper V10 engine.

First they started with a few slow laps just to get the feeling of the track and to make sure that everything is ok because in the morning there was some snow. After they reinsured that everything was alright with the track they started the fast laps. The first lap was successful with some minor problems. After the first lap we could see some damage to the ‘Cuda due to the high speed, for example the stripes on the front of the hood were blown away from the wind. Going with 190 mph (303 km/h) the windshield molding on the right side of the ‘Cuda snapped due to the high speed, but luckily nothing more serious happened. The second time the driver of the ‘Cuda was a little bit scared to go again, but after seeing the Ferrari Enzo he went for another lap. The second lap was better, going with a 324 km/h, there weren’t any problems for the ‘Cuda. And finally on the last lap both cars hit their top speed. The Enzo hit a new track record with a 218 mph and the Super ‘Cuda went with a 208 mph. And I think that that wasn’t their actual top speed but the day was over and so was the testing. Seeing a car like this, an old timer muscle car go up “against” a modern super car and showing the statistics and the performance that the ‘Cuda showed today, it is simply said amazing. And the view of the ‘Cuda going with that speed is unbelievable. You can hear the sound it makes long before you can see it, making a empty air space in the wind like a Jet flying through the sky.

Both the ‘Cuda and the Enzo look impressive and just mentioning the ‘Cuda in the same sentence with the Enzo is not something you see every day. But seeing the ‘Cuda actually going head to head with the Enzo is something that will change your perspective of how you look at old timers.
