Cars like Ford GT were never made to challenge speed records for the world’s fastest production car. For sure, this car is not slow at all, and with the appropriate tuning, it can be fitted to drive mad like hell. And here we have a Ford GT like that, equipped with twin turbos with more than 2,000 hp which enabled it to hold the record at the Texas Mile, the top-end banzai run very much like the more famous Mojave Mile in California. This particular GT comes adorned in Gulf Racing colors.

Two weeks ago, this Ford GT tuned by M2K Motorsports was propelled with speed of 273.7 mph at the Texas Mile. Previously the car has run 278mph and currently holds the world record at the Texas Mile.

It surely takes some serious courage and skills to drive this beast! Kudos to the driver!

In a few shots of the video the rims on the Ford GT are different because the team had to change the tires for the last run.
