These tanks received a baptism of fire in September 1942 in North Africa. Then they fought in Europe and in the Far East. Sherman was easy to manufacture and reliable in operation. It had a solid construction, but was weakly armed and armored. The American army during the war had not received a heavy tank. It was the constant modernization: to enhance the reservations up to 100 mm and the arms. After the war, the Sherman tanks were in service in many countries.
