  1.   Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

This is about 16 miles and just 20 min away from Las Vegas and is one of the best climbing places around the whole area. Hundreds of climbers visit it during the climbing season lasting from late fall through early spring. For the non-climbers, it is great for a day’s hike or a scenic trip. Covering a massive 1.5 million acres with mountains, valleys, canyons and two huge lakes is this first and largest American national recreation area.
