We are looking at a true piece of automotive history. This 1970 Hemi Cuda is not an ordinary Plymouth Barracuda. In 1970 less than 400 of these Hemi Cudas were made with a 4-speed manual transmission. So with that said, we are looking at one of the 400 cars of the limited edition, and for me that is a big privilege.
The owner of this Hemi ‘Cuda was so generous that he offered to take a few spins around the block just to show us how great his Hemi Cuda is. The performance of this car was just breathtaking. As he drove through the asphalt of the streets we could see right there that it is one of a kind car. The sound that this Hemi ‘Cuda was making, was like music from heaven, and the way it handled itself on the road was mind-blowing. Only in new cars you can see handling skills like that, like the high speed and the fast breaks but that was no problem for this old Hemi Cuda. Also, we had a chance to see the inside, and the owner was again generous enough to let us have a little glance under the hood. The exterior of this ‘Cuda was authentic. When you’re in it, you have a feeling that you’re back in the ‘70s with that huge steering wheel and the old dashboard and also the gear shifter is something that you only see in old movies. And under the hood we can see a Hemi engine that is powerful enough to go head to head with modern supercars. And also the whole car was clean and needy and not too much restoration was done to it, so that is why it still has that classical Barracudas look.
To have a chance to look at this limited Hemi Cuda up close is once in a lifetime opportunity.
