The TRUCK STOPPING DISTANCE At 40mph Is 160 Feet. What HAPPENS If You Only Have 79 Feet?

You can guess the answer we bet that. You simply won’t stop your truck; it will continue moving forward until it crashes into something or stop it when it reaches the feet.

But imagine you are on the highway, a lot of traffic around you and you are trying to drive carefully, not passing the limit speed given on the signs. In this scenario the chances are 99.99% that nothing can happen to you and your truck.

Here is a quick note: The truck stopping at 30 mph speed is 100 feet away, at 40 mph is 169 feet! So imagine you are driving with speed between 35-37 mph, the approximate stopping would be between 150 and 165 feet.

So next, you are trying to hold your lane when someone fools around with a truck at your given speed, interrupting your lane because he will hit the cars in front of him (he is also driving more than 35 mph). Can you guess the result?

Let’s watch the video and see what exactly will happen and are there any chances to be avoided the potential accident? Tell us what you think in the comments.

Bet the truck driver got a ticket for failure to control speed. Same thing happened to me in Houston

      Damn that sucks 🙁

The frustration and I’m not even there. All the guy in the toyota had to do was check his mirrors/blindspot and he would’ve seen the truck coming. They’re big. They’re loud. They’re hard to miss. No excuse except plain ignorance on the part of the pickup driver. Meanwhile, the semi truck driver will prob get blamed nonetheless >:(

I hear you brother. I wouldn’t want to be in his place for sure.

Well, the truck could just have changed lines as well. There is not a single car on that line right to the truck, so…

Yes, he tried to do that, but it was too late.

        Yeah, he was too slow.
