The creative team of designers in the company Letrons based in Ankara has produced the first car-robot, ie, the first real Transformer which can be driven.

The surname, however is not Transformers but Letrons and the first name is not Optimus Prime but Antimon, but the substance does not change: there is finally a car that can do what at least three generations of children and adolescents have dreamed about. The BMW 3 Series you see in the video, in fact, is able to transform just like an Autobot. The project was designed by a Turkish company, Letrons, which is the derivation of Letvision, a technology start-ups supported by major partners such as Intel and Microsoft. The final product took 8 months of work by a team of twelve engineers and four technicians to support and can now be sold to anyone who requests it.

Cars that transform into robots are the main theme of films and animated series with which grew many generations. Many as children wanted to have a car that suddenly transforms into a robot with above-average powers. However, the reality is that such robots exist only in the movies.

But it seems that the childhood dream to a group of Turkish designers had not disappeared. The creative team of the company Letrons has produced the first car-robot, ie, the first real transformer which may drive. As a model chosen they picked a BMW car, which remotely controlled moves, stops and stands on “on its feet”.

The development has been carried out completely “in-house” with the mechanical part made at the headquarters in Ankara and the electronic defined in the Technopark company. Antimon is driven by an electric motor and is a regular sale, but who wants to buy it has to explain how he intends to use it, as the vehicle is operated by a remote control and is not suitable for public areas. The intent of Letrons is to build other “Transformers” in small series, using other models of cars.

Although the robot does not transform that easily, it seems that the idea of ​​Turkish designers and developers is a good start for a new direction in cars would develop in the future. In short, this Letrons is still imperfect, but it’s still an incredible object and with a very high power to excite adults and children.
