Believe it or not, there was a point in American cinema where everything was pretty much corny, yet at the same time, the cinematography retained a lot of that cool factor which is quite tough to grasp by many filmmakers today. Today, we thought it would be a pretty good idea to take a trip down memory lane to check out the opening scenes from The Cannonball Run II movie, an insert that will make you want to go find a copy and grab some beer and popcorn.
The Cannonball Run II is an action comedy film made back in 1984 and directed by Hal Needham talking about cars street racing, sequel to The Cannonball Run from 1981. In 1989 came a third film in the series, entitled Speed Zone, that in some markets has been published under the title of Cannonball Run III or Cannonball Fever. Did we mention that the main role was played by one of the best dudes of the 1980s – the one and only Burt Reynolds!
In just less than five minutes, and we are already given a couple of lovely, beautiful ladies, a wild car chase scene with a classy red 1983 Lamborghini Countach LP500 S, topped with some dramatic special effects that will make your jaw dropped to the floor. Undoubtedly a red Lamborghini Countach with the epic rear wing is one of the coolest and probably most recognizable cars in automotive history. Only 323 samples of the Lamborghini Countach LP500 S were ever made. I sure wish I was among the actors starring in this movie.
Check out the clip below and tell us what you think of this old school car chase. Have you seen this epic car chase movie from the 1980s? Or have you already started downloading a copy for yourself yet?
