Ford introduced its new model on four wheels that looks absolutely great. The 2016 Shelby Mustang GT350R is made on the basis of the standard GT350 model with few good modifications in order for it to be ready for “hotter” driving on the tracks.
The engine is the same model of the GT350, 500 horses 5.0-liter V8 engine, only this time there are a few changes made on it. The cooling is changed so that the car can stand much more on the track unlike the ordinary model.
All over the car have been made design changes so that there are many new details for which is used carbon fiber. The price is not known, and it will appear on the market in 2016, but surely only those with “deepest” pockets can afford this lovely beauty.
One of the latest news concerning the new GT350R is that the Mustang passed the Nürburgring circuit in 7:32.19, which is more than 5 seconds faster than the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 which passed the lap in 7:37.47. So far, there is no confirmation on this statement, but the British car magazine Evo claims that allegedly the new Shelby GT350R broke the Camaro’s record.
Before the unveiling of the GT350R at the 2014 L.A. Auto Show, a source told Car and Driver to expect the GT350R to be a car that would run close to the Camaro Z/28, assuring them that we are about to see a true rival to Chevy’s track rat. Thus came along the beautiful new 2015 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R.
