This is not something you see every day. While some may consider this crazy, we like to think that what the operator of this Cat 319D LN possesses is true skill.
The way he gets up to the railcar is like something out of a movie, yet it’s real and it’s happening in front of your eyes. Because a ramp was not available, the way this operator climbs up is using the claw to balance, pull and lift the main part of the vehicle up the edges of the two platforms before he finally manages to climb onto the railcar. Once again although this is not something that should be taken lightly considering the amount of cat operators who would decide to make this movie a reality wouldn’t seem to be a majority. As the CAT 319D LN approaches the top there are few moments where it literally seems like he won’t make it but he doesn’t cease to surprise with each move. When he gets to the railcar this operator digs sand to fix the vehicle into place which is funny to look considering he did every step of the job without any extra assistance.
Truly the most skilled CAT operator is at work!
we did this back in the late 70s -this is how we loaded them on trailers

That’s indeed very impressive Richard. Thanks for sharing this video with us.
Are you serious. A good operator would have done this in half the time
I could do that and I’ve been out of diggers for 15 years – actually it’s how we used to load them on trucks before decent ramps and hydraulic setup were common
Thanks for telling us your experience Jamie. It would be great to see even better performances than this.
