Before the Grand Prix started, the team of Panasonic Toyota Racing conducted an advertising campaign to promote the film The Dark Knight, which was premiered a few days after the race. During the demonstration race the Toyota car drove with the Batmobile. Toyota drivers Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock even rode on the supercar, because, unlike the models and patterns, this sample was fully functional. During that weekend at the wings of the Toyota car was set an advertising of the film.

We become aware of some technical details about this interesting “means for movement in the night.” Six huge wheels were used in the monster truck which drives with the help of the 5.7-liter engine with capacity of 340 hp. The monster’s length is 4.5 meters, its width -- 3 meters and its height – half of it. It is noteworthy that it has no front axle: two front wheels are mounted on a special forked design allows the machine to perform incredibly sharp turns with very small radius. The other four wheels, which are shod with tires in size with giant truck tire, located at the rear. Batmobile can not only ride and make sharp turns, but also has a quality that just need a superhero supercar -- the ability to make jumps. He can jump a distance of 1.8 m and has “proprygat” as much as 18 m.
Other dynamic performances of the car were kept a secret by the creators of the movie. Of course, from the enemies of Batman.
Many cinematic cars are not really able to move independently, but this does not apply to the “Batmobile”. Like its predecessor, a new “Batmobile” consumes the real unleaded petrol and successfully moves.
This was not the first time that Formula 1 becomes a platform for advertising films about Batman. In 2012, the Lotus F1 Team became the “platform” for advertising of the trilogy about the adventures of Batman in the last part “The Dark Knight Rises.” At Silverstone in the pits of the team, as well as on the cars, the overalls and the helmets of the riders were placed logos of the movie, while Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean lead to the track the famous Batmobile.
Eric Bull, the head of Lotus F1 said that that year their team was kind of a” dark horse “in the fight for the title, so they were perfectly corresponding to the pattern which the filmmakers wanted to convey to the audience.
