He is even mightier than the sound of the name, honestly PL-01 sounds to weak and gentle but he is not of that kind. For the first time he appeared at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in 2013 and since then he enjoys the nickname “The Invisible Steel Monster”!
This is how he earned. Basically this tank is for the Polish military, but their cooperation with the British conglomerate BAE Systems paid off and they successfully launched this fighting monster back in the late 2013.
Maybe he sounds like an ordinary tank, but his abilities are distinctive from the traditional tanks. The main guilt has the low-infrared emission body which perplex the radars and the anti-tank weapons. The 940HP diesel engine is capable enough to move smoothly and fast the 35 tons body which is cooled with wafers for the aforementioned reasons.
He is 7 meters long, 3.8 meters wide and 2.8 meter tall and can host a crew of three military officers. The shooting abilities of the main armament of the PL-01 tank are 105mm and 120mm caliber featuring another secondary weapon, a remote machine gun with 7.62 caliber.
The driving autonomy of this monster is 500 km, while he can reach speed of 70 km/h on open roads and 50 km/h on rough terrains. Of course thanks to the 940HP diesel engine which is paired with torque converter and automatic gearbox.
