The first official teaser trailer for the upcoming animated movie Cars 3 was released recently in anticipation of the third episode of the beloved animated series that will arrive to theaters around the world next summer. Pixar has prepared a film full of adventure and fun, Lightning McQueen’s return and his friends will surely be a great joy for children and parents alike. However, this trailer comes with a much darker tone than the previous two films.

In the teaser trailer, the appearance of the hero Lightning McQueen in the crashing at the end of the intense race is contained, and the accident that occurs to the former hero is pretty much implied.

The teaser trailer is only 49 seconds long but seeing the short footage it is quite clear that everything is not exactly the way it was when we last saw our hero Lightning McQueen. It appears that what was once a shiny stud on the race track is no longer a top dog in the game. Sadly, McQueen gets into a huge crash during the teaser trailer and judging by the level of destruction, things don’t look very good for him. McQueen skids on the race track before dramatically flipping as sparks fly and black smoke comes from the engine. After the major crash the following words appear on the screen: “From this moment, everything will change.”

The short clip caused quite a frenzy on YouTube as well as the social media, with fans expressing emotional reactions and joking about the dark turn this franchise has obviously taken.

Many fans of Disney Pixar were shocked and even brought to tears when they saw the teaser. They are now concerned about the future of their beloved red race car.
