The basis of the Batmobile was the undeservedly forgotten concept of the Ford company- 1955 Lincoln Futura. Lincoln Futura – Batmobile, which became a cult classic, was doomed to eternal glory, and the mention of the company Ford.

It was hard not to put an eye on the car. The concept was impressive. Not only in appearance. Value specified in the documentation attached to the concept of – $ 250,000. The high price was due to manual assembly, which was produced in Turin. You’d be surprised, but Barris bought one of the samples for only $ 1!

Under the hood of the Batmobile was an atomic gas turbine engine. Of course, this is just a gimmick. In fact, there was located a Ford V8. As options were available: radar, police beacon, lasers, missiles and other cool gadgets. In the rear were positioned parachutes, spreaders of spikes and smokescreen generator.

Later, after almost 10 years, the Batmobile, built on the concept of Futura, returned to the TV screen with a television show about the superheroes. According to many, the 1966 Batmobile is one of the best cars on which rode a character migrated from the pages of comic books to the big screen.
