Ever since the beautiful new child from BMW was released, everyone wanted to find out what the I6 engine that runs under its hood is capable of. The new 2015 BMW M4 is the first that uses a turbocharged engine, being much lighter than before.
It was a little shocking, especially when you consider that this is a 3-liter I6 bi-turbo engine and that before there was the 4-liter V8 atmospheric which had a marvelous sound. But, the added 150 Nm of torque will surely make a big difference anywhere you go.
No matter if you are driving to the supermarket or having a drag race with a Lamborghini, those numbers will come in handy for you. Oh, so you’ve noticed the Lamborghini name? Well, the video presented below in this article is definitely not what you would normally expect.
In it you will see a stock 2015 BMW M4 in a drag race with a Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale. What that means is that the Italian is a beefed up version of the regular Gallardo. See it as a bull heavily overdosed with steroids.
The V10 engine with volume of 5.2 liters is upgraded to produce up to 570 HP and the dry weight of the car is around 2,954 pounds.
On the other hand the stock BMW M4 has power of only 431 HP and 550 Nm of torque while its weight is not of much help either, since the lightest possible model is 3,262 pounds. However, this model is equipped with a DCT 7-speed gearbox which makes it weigh little over 1.5 tons.
Surprisingly, the Bimmer posted a lot closer time of the BMW to the one of the Lamborghini than we expected. The Gallardo did 11.18 seconds at 132 mph while the BMW M4 finished the race in 11.86 seconds at speed of 121.6 mph. You might ask yourselves: how was that possible? Well…a bit of tuning never hurt nobody…
