The era of the so-called “heavy machinery” was at its zenith in the late 1960s, and the company Dodge finally made its own small two-door car in 1970. It was appropriately named Challenger (challenging). A long list of model variants was offered, including 12 engines.
According to the tradition of Dodge, the model R / T had a high performance. The base engine was regarded as a V-shaped eight-cylinder with capacity of 6.3 liters and output of 250 kW, but you can book a car with a powerful engine of 7 liters – highways option – and a hemispherical combustion chamber, or a volume of 7.2 liters, V-shaped eight, which had power of 316 kW and 279 kW respectively. The model was based on the new E-shaped platform of Chrysler, and had the same engine heat shield and front auxiliary frame, as big cars with V-shaped platform of the Charger type.
Here we have a very cool video made by Jamboolio featuring the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T powered by a 440 cu Magnum big-block V8 engine with capacity of 7.2L and high output.
The video was filmed back in 2013 in Kotka, in the beautiful country of Finland.
