At the State Fair of Texas, the 2014 Silverado HD was showcased. However, this was not the only concept truck Chevy had prepared for the event. The first concept truck is the Black Ops, whose design draws inspiration from the Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 4×4. This vehicle will be exhibited at the 2013 SEMA Show this November.
Exterior-wise, the Black Ops has obviously a black finish. It, moreover, features custom-fabricated lower body armor, a solar power pack, a bed-mounted Truck Vault storage unit, a pair of gas masks, military first aid kit, gloves, rope, and a folding shovel.
The engine specifications haven`t been revealed; however, we suppose that this truck will have the standard Silverado under its hood. More precisely, it may be a 5.3 liter, V-8 engine which produces 355 horsepower or a 6.2-liter, V-8 one with 420 horsepower.
The 2014 Chevy has been updated in every possible aspect (interior, exterior, engine lineup and chassis).
The truck is offered with three new EcoTec3 engines. The first, base one is a 4.3-liter, V-6 that producing 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. The second is a 5.3-liter, V-8 engine delivering 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, whereas the third option is a 6.2-liter, V-8 with 420 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque.
The starting price for the 2014 Silverado is $24,585.
