The bomb at the 2014 Paris Motor Show was undoubtedly the Lamborghini LPI Asterion 910-4 Concept, the first plug-in hybrid model of the Italian brand. Its staging has left a lot of people without words to most innovations presented at the French event, leaving them virtually in the background.
The LPI 910-4 Asterion Concept is the result of hybrid technology that Lamborghini has developed over the years, a kind of progress to show what the brand is capable of in the near future.
It has less sports appearance than the other members of the “Lambo” range. It is geared toward a more luxurious and comfortable. Its design is very sensual yet strange, though still acknowledging its origins at first glance.
Under the hood is mounted a naturally aspirated 5.2 V10 with 610 hp, the same as the Huracan, combined with three electric motors for a total output of 910 hp.
So far the Asterión will keep the name “concept”. But do not think that it will last too long to see what it will do to any of its rivals McLaren with the P1 and Ferrari with the LaFerrari…
