In the New York area, specifically in Long Island many truck drivers are caught by too low structures. This is why this route of Long Island, is forbidden to trucks because of the lower overpasses located there.

But that did not stop this truck driver to take a chance…However, his attempt led to an unfortunate accident resulting in the tractor trailer being completely obliterated into pieces.

When you make a mistake there is always someone who is filming the whole event. This driver of this big semi-trailer truck has not noticed the signs indicating the height of the arched stone bridge. The driver who was following behind the truck had already noticed that something would go wrong, so he started recording. Fortunately the driver of the truck was fine, but clearly upset by the accident. This event took place on the Meadowbrook Parkway, where two lanes were closed for about 3 hours until the debris was all cleaned up.

Let this man’s misfortune be a reminder to all of us to respect the traffic regulations which are after all made for our safety and protection.
