First thing on the ’menu‘ was the horsepower. The request was to build a vehicle with 1 000 HP. Now in order to achieve those numbers, the entire amazingly engineered VR 38 DETTs had to be taken to another level. They have gathered information with an extensive R & D and later on the process was started out. First they sent the blocks to Japan in order to fit them with Greddy dry sleeves, than reassembled them with Greddy -- spec JE pistons mated to Greddy 92.4 mm stroker crankshafts by way of Carrillo Pro H -- beam connecting rods. Also the heads were ’massaged‘ in Port Flow in Southern California and than with a usage of Ferrea valves, springs, retainers and Tomei ProCam 280 intake and exhaust cams, they were reassembled. And this was actually a preparation for the long blocks for the SPE 1000 R turbo kit package. The Greddy TD 06 turbochargers were modified and equipped with 67 mm billet compressor wheels and 11 blade turbine wheels, as well as upgrading the turbine housings from 8 to 10 cm2. Dual HKS was placed to pump the fuel to ID 2000 injectors, along with a standard third SP fuel pump. An OS Giken TCD rear differential and Dodson Motorsport / Exedy Promax 10 plate clutch was upgraded to effectively put the power to the ground. Also there was a Greddy DCT cooler that is keeping HKS DCTF -- I transmission fluid in a cool state. And in order to tune those huge setups to achieve that power output, required by the mysterious customers, an installation and final tuning process of the HKS EVCs, AFKs and a Cobb Access Port was done.
