In order to have a an elastic power delivery along with a fuller low end torque curve Kitabayashi -- San of and his team have polished the heads and than later fit them with an upgraded HKS valvetrain parts, along with a V -- Cam Step 1 Type B variable valve timing system. They have also combined all of this with a larger HKS exhaust camshaft so that they can gain a bigger control when tuning, boosting the torque from low to mid rpm so that they can get a flatter torque production all the way to an 8 000 rpm redline at 680 HP, developed at only 1.5 bar of boost, from a Trust T 78 – 33 D single turbo engine. No type of filter had been used on the T 78, only in order to maximize air intake only an anodized HKS velocity stack was implemented. Thanks to the HKS, all needed intercooler and hard piping was there and due to the finely balanced air delivery characteristics, a Nismo GT plenum was responding in the right way. And thanks to the Sard injectors that were fed from the Sard fuel system, despite their big size, they never seem to delay cold or warm starts and the engine response was momentary. Key temperature was always under control thanks to the HKS oil cooler and Trust radiator that operated with the help of upgraded JUN oil and N1 water pumps. Trust oil sump also provides extra liters of oil for a reserve, which is important with this type of highly tuned engine.
