The Formula Drift Championship a.k.a. Formula Drift is a premier drifting series played in the U.S. since 2004, equivalent to D1 Grand Prix of Japan. Drivers compete skidding their cars and are rated according to their style of skidding, taking elements like speed, duration, yaw angle and distance to the edges of the track. Each date consists of qualifying races solitary and in pairs. The technical and sporting regulations are not identical to the D1GP. For example, convertibles can run with the roof folded or unfolded; the scoring system is different; and it is not allowed to overtake the rival races in pairs, except when the first driver makes a mistake. Throughout the seasons, the Formula Drift was played in circuits like Long Beach, Road Atlanta, Sears Point, Irwindale, Las Vegas, Portland, and Cleveland.
Formula Drift Asia
Established in 2008, the Formula Drift Asia officially started with the FD competition held in Singapore on which occurred its inauguration. The first actual international competition in Asia took place at the Changi Air Show Grounds. The tickets for this legendary event were sold out even before the race actually started. The winner of this first race was Rhys Millen. Since then, the Formula Drift Asia has become a championship series on its own, as the first actual Pan-Asian championship in professional drifting. Now, the Formula Drift Asia championship includes Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia as well. In the year of 2009 and 2010, the Championship was held in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, while for the Championship tour in 2011/2012 the Formula Drift Asia was also held in Indonesia too...CLICK BELOW ON NEXT PAGE…
