1934 Packard Twelve Model 1106
The company Packard was founded by two American brothers in 1899. The first car, dubbed the “Type A” was built in the same year. One of the models, which brought the popularity of the company, was the “Double Six”. The car turned out with an attractive exterior, well-run and comfortable during the ride. Its price was not low, nevertheless the “Type A” was in demand among wealthy people.
Plant “Packard” to produce cars not only with standard bodies, but also makes them individually for the customer. Above them worked such designers like Dietrich, Brewster and Le Baron.
The most famous model of the company brought was the 1934 Packard Twelve, equipped with a 7.3-liter twelve-unit with water cooling provided by a centrifugal pump and fan with a thermostat. The engine was equipped with a synchronized gearbox and centrifugal clutch. Brake drum stopped all four wheels. The maximum speed to which the Packard Twelve could be dispersed reached a value of 160 km / h. Raising of the roof over the four-seater “Count Sakroffski” was designed in such a way as to receive the benefits of an open car without losing coupe facilities.
