1956 Ford F-100
The Ford F-Series is a series of full-size pickups, which the Ford Motor Company has produced for more than sixty years. The first pick-up of the Ford F-Series was one of the most successful models in the history of Ford. Since its introduction in 1948, the company has sold more than 27.5 million F-Series pickups around the world; it has been the best-selling pickup truck in America for 30 years.
The Ford F-100 was offered in 1956, and was easily recognizable from the windshield, which was enveloping and possessed of vertical posts. In 1956, the cabin design has changed somewhat; the windshield was panoramic, with stops on the sidewall. It was different from that of models from previous years, whose windshields were inclined uprights and had an angular shape. The 1956 model was also offered with an optional wraparound rear window. Such features were more than enough to make this pickup one of the most stylish trucks ever made. Since 1956, Ford offered a very rare version, for all models, with low GVWR. Again in 1956 the seat belts were available as an option.
The body style of The 1956 modellasted for only one year. This RWD pickup truck was driven by a 3.7-liter, inline-six 3654 cc front-mounted engine rated at 115 horsepower. The truck was offered with four transmission options: a three-speed manual, four-speed manual, five-speed manual and an automatic.
