The 20 BEST PICKUP TRUCKS Ever Made In History! These Are The Truckers’ FAVORITE RIDES!!!

1988 Chevrolet C/K

Inside GM the Chevy C/K is also known as the GMT400. This pickup became the default truck for 1990s enthusiasts because the 1988 Chevy C/K was so neatly designed and exceptionally built. In that bygone era virtually every other vehicle on the road was a Chevy pickup painted teal, slammed too low, on a set of billet wheels.

Back in those days the Chevy C/K was just one of the few trucks civilized enough to serve as a car. The development of the trucks began in 1984 with their official debut in 1987 as 1988 year models, and they were referred to as the GMT400 platform.

Eight versions of the Chevrolet C/K were made for 1988: the Fleetside Single Cab, the Stepside Single Cab, the Fleetside Extended Cab, and the Fleetside Crew Cab, and each of them came in 2WD or 4WD. All of the Chevrolet C/K models were equipped with an independent front suspension.

Three trim options were offered for the truck: the Cheyenne, the Silverado and the Scottsdale. Engine options included 4.3-liter V6 with 160 hp; a 175 hp 5.0-liter V8, a 5.7-liter V8 rated at 210 hp, and finally a 6.2-liter V8 diesel. The 3/4-ton and one-ton trucks were offered with a 7.4-liter V8 rated at 230 hp.

To enhance the truck durability and protection against corrosion, Chevy used galvanized steel, together with a fully welded frame with a boxed front end for rigidity and strength.
