1967 Chevrolet C/K
In 1967, the second generation of the Chevrolet C/K was introduced. The same was known by the public with the nickname of Brava, as its commercial presentation, showed a man who said goodbye to his girlfriend who was taking a train. When this man noticed that she forgot his wallet, he began a chase on the train on board his van, on extremely complicated and impassable roads, while the announcer recounted the kindness of the truck. At the end of the commercial, after the van reaches the train at the next station, the phrase “Brava!” occupies the entire screen.
This new generation of the C/K, presented a style of design more rectilinear and smoothed than the previous one. In fact, it no longer featured the huge fins characteristic of the Chevrolet models of the 1960s. The only thing the truck retained from the previous model, was the double option of wide or narrow box. Another of its variations during the passage of the years, were the different modifications that the Brava received in its grill.
As for its engines, the new Brava was the one that premiered with the new engines called Chevrolet “230” of 130 HP, 6 cylinders in line and 3.8 liters of displacement, a second generation more powerful and modern of the old-fashioned Trifmaster “230” of 126 HP that equipped the Apache. As an option, it was also equipped with the new and more powerful 145-hp, 6-cylinder, 7-cylinder and 4.1-liter Chevrolet engine, which was released in 1968 with the Chevrolet 400 but never equipped the old Apache. A technological innovation, brought by the Brava, was the appearance of the Posi-Trac self-locking differential, which allowed the truck to pull when one of the wheels was spinning, automatically actuating the Posi-Trac and allowing better traction.
