Austin Healey 3000
Austin-Healey 3000 is a sports car produced under the brand Austin-Healey in the late 60’s in the UK. The new roadster has replaced its predecessor Austin-Healey 100. The number “3000” in the name of the car designated the rounded indicator of volume of the engine, which was 2912 cc.
The package of the new Austin-Healey 3000 supercar included: dual SU carburettors, disc brakes on the front wheels. The car reached the breakneck speed at the time: 185 km / h acceleration of 11.7 seconds to 100 km / h. The price reached £ 1326.
At the beginning the maker British Motor Corporation offered two variants of body layout for the Austin-Healey 3000: BN7 Mark I and BT7 Mark I, but was soon released the upgraded version Mark II, equipped with a triple carburettor and a new camshaft. The car Mark I was sold a little over 13,500 £.
Before withdrawing the series off the production line came about 18 million samples of the last modified Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III, the most luxurious and largest model, and found their owners.
In total from 1959 to 1967 it produced 17712 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III BJ8 -- not very much, but also not too little. That is what makes them very popular with collectors, that they are treated, among other things, as an object of a good investment. It is obvious that the price of these models will only grow.
