Dodge Challenger R/T

Dodge Challenger is a cult American muscle car, produced by the Dodge Department of the Chrysler Corporation. It was made to compete with muscle cars such as the Chevy Camaro, Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird and Mercury Cougar. Challenger, was described in the book “American cars of the 1960s” as a response of Dodge to the Mustang and Camaro. It was the pony car with Chrysler E bodywork, inferior in size to the Plymouth Barracuda.

The company has released four versions of the coupe in 1970: the budget Challenger Six, moderate Challenger V8, powerful Challenger R/T and sporty Challenger T/A. The third was the most powerful version -- Dodge Challenger R/T. Its features include a Hemi engine. The R/T in the model name denote the car’s communicating possibilities both on road, as well as on the track. The Challenger R/T is equipped with Chrysler 383 Magnum V8, the power of which is 335 horsepower, however, in 1971 because of reduced compression ratio, the power was reduced to 300 hp.

The second series consists of four models, including: Challenger SRT-8, Challenger SXT, Challenger SE and Challenger R/T. The model Challenger R / T is powered by a Hemi engine with capacity of 370 horses and a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.

Today, it is the most aggressive car of the legendary Dodge brand, and we want to believe that the story does not end for the Dodge Challenger.
