Lamborghini Countach
Lamborghini Countach is a sports coupe with a central engine arrangement. The first prototype was introduced to the public at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show. The model is quite controversial, independent and rebellious.
The first production car Lamborghini Countach LP400 was released in 1974. Unlike the prototype, the car received less aggressive body design with additional air vents and large air intakes for the engine not to overheat. The first generation Lamborghini Countach LP400 used a 380hp 3.9-liter engine and 5-speed manual transmission. This car is able to accelerate to 100 km / h in less than 7 seconds and capable to reach a top speed of 290 km / h. In 1978 debuted a restyled version of the Countach LP 400S. Displacement remains the same, but its output was reduced to 355 hp. In addition, the weight of the supercar was reduced by 50 kg, so its maximum speed was reduced to 275 km / h.
In 1982 saw the light the modification Lamborghini Countach LP500S (sold in the United States under the name LP5000S) with a more powerful engine, the displacement of which was increased to 4.8 liters. In 1985 made its debut the Lamborghini Countach 5000QV. The supercar was powered by a 5.2-liter 48-valve V12 engine, the power of which had increased to 455 hp.
In total were produced 2042 copies of the Countach, and in 1990 it was replaced by the new model Lamborghini Diablo.
