1971-1975 Ford Baja Bronco
The Ford Bronco sold from 1966 to 1977 could make this list all on its own. However the pinnacle of its awesomeness was the limited edition Ford Baja Bronco. After much success in off-road racing, the legendary fabricator and racer Bill Stroppe teamed up with the company Ford to produce between 400 and 650 replicas of the Ford Baja Bronco. The trucks were painted to match the race trucks used by Stroppe. Then his workshop cut the rear wheel wells and installed flares which provided room for bigger tires. The trucks were powered by 302-cid V8 paired to a C4 automatic transmission. Bill Stroppe offered a large catalog of parts that could be used as an option in every Ford Baja Bronco. These parts included lights, a roll cage, winch, and even heavy-duty enhancements on the suspension. Being still popular today, Ford Baja Bronco trucks fueled the rise of the offroad scene during the 1970s.
