1976-1977 Chevy Blazer Chalet
Without a doubt the Chevy Blazer deserves to be on this list. However instead of choosing a pedestrian model, we picked the rare Chalet version. During the middle to the end of the ‘70s, camping and off-roading were two hot trends. But to be able to do both, enthusiasts would need a motor coach and a 4X4 truck to haul it. If one ordered the Chalet, this problem would be solved. This truck was a pop-up camper model built by Chinook which slid into the cargo hold of a Chevy Blazer with four wheel drive providing sleeping accommodations for two persons. In other words, a person could tackle a tough trail in the Chalet and bring everything that one needs for camping at night. The Chalet was sold for a price of less than 10,000 dollars, and no more than 2000 samples were ever produced.
