Land Rover Range Rover (1987-1997)

Before the Range Rover was released in 1987, the landscape of luxury vehicles with four wheel drive in the United States consisted of the Jeep Wagoneer, Toyota Land Cruiser, and in some cases, the Chevrolet Suburban. Yet the Range Rover with its sharp look and V8 engine under its hood brought an unrivaled brand of legacy and capability with itself. Its coil-sprung solid axle suspension enabled the Range Rover to ride across rock gardens and ravines that would defeat almost any other vehicle with four wheel drive. These SUVs were amazingly good, especially considering how luxury they were in their interior. By the early ‘90s, the volume of the engine had been increased to 4.2-liters and there was also available a long wheelbase model with more space.

These classic Range Rover vehicles would be prime targets for collectors if it weren’t for their bad reputation for reliability.
