1967-1977 Ford F-250 Highboy

This is one of the meanest-looking trucks ever built by Ford. We just love its ultra-rugged drivetrain and high stance. One could mount a huge 35” tire under this truck without even lifting its suspension. Also this truck was a few inches higher than the 3/4-ton trucks built by General Motors, Dodge, and Jeep.

After 1977.5, Ford F-250 underwent revision with a new frame, drivetrain, and suspension, which made the new F-250 trucks lower. Hence from that point on, the older Ford F-250 trucks were also known as Highboys while new models that were 2” lower were known a “Lowboys”. Many of these “Highboys” were equipped with Ford FE 360 V8 engine paired to a C6 automatic or a NP 435 4-speed manual transmission.
