1972-1979 Datsun 620

Datsun launched their first compact truck on the American market in 1959. By the time the manufacturer released its fourth generation 620 in 1972, it enjoyed years of compact truck expertise with a strong reputation. Not only that the Datsun 620 looked great, with the winglets along its bedsides, but it also broke through with many innovations. It was the first compact truck that had a long bed, and in 1977, Datsun released the King Cab version with more interior space. The King Cab 620 became the de-facto a surf truck around Southern California in the late ‘70s and nurtured the early sport compact truck scene.
