1945-1949 Willys CJ-2A
This Willys truck is much more than just a civilian version of the Willys MB. The original “Jeep” soon became the blueprint and inspiration for almost every 4WD RV during the next 70 years, including every model of Jeep. Perhaps the most iconic detail on it is the seven-slot grille, which is used on every modern Jeep.
The Willys CJ-2A was powered by a 134-cid “Go-Devil” engine with 60-hp. Since the CJ-2A drove on an 80” wheelbase weighing only 2100 pounds, it was not just maneuverable but also energetic.
The Willys CJ-2A was more of a workhorse than like any SUV today, and was often used with farm implements and other attachments including snow plows.
