1967-1972 Chevy and GMC pickups
These were the first pickup trucks built by General Motors to be less utilitarian and more appealing to everyone. And they represented leaps ahead compared to previous trucks in terms of drivability and style. These trucks were lower than the previous models, so it was not an impossible mission for owners to haul themselves up into the cabs. These trucks were also fitted with a coil-spring rear suspension offered as an option, several decades before any other truck. The best model was the Custom Sport Truck, offered either with a big-block 396-cid V8 rich of torque, or, starting in 1970, the 402. These pickup trucks were really tough muscle trucks. And soon their body style was used as the basis for the very first Chevrolet Blazer.
